In early Asian trading hours on Monday, when typically only tens of contracts of gold are traded, investors dumped more than $500 million worth of bullion in New York in four seconds, triggering the market's biggest rout in years.

The sell-off began when one or more massive sell orders hit the price of gold on the CME Group's Comex futures in New York a tenth of a second after 9:29 a.m. in Shanghai, triggering turnover of almost 5,000 lots of gold in a blink of an eye.8,000 lots moved the market by $50.

That equates to 13 tonnes of gold, more than typically trades in hours during this time of day, and the selling knocked the price almost $20 to $1,100 per ounce during those four seconds. It marked the first leg of a dramatic 60-second sell-off that saw prices sink more than 4 percent to five-year lows.

Greek Lawmakers Clear The Way For Formal Bailout Discussions

As expected, the Greek parliament has approved a second set of prior measures, clearing the way for formal discussions on a third bailout program for the debt-stricken country.
As Bloomberg notes, "several lawmakers of governing Syriza party, including Parliament Speaker Zoi Konstantopoulou, former deputy Finance Minister Nadia Valavani didn’t support bill."
As a reminder, Wednesday's vote was largely a formality as the measures - which included EU rules on bank resolutions and civil justice reform - weren't expected to be as contentious as those presented to lawmakers last week. Alexis Tsipras is desperately trying to regain the support of Syriza MPs who have refused to support the conditions creditors have attached to the €86 billion ESM aid package.
Although negotiations will now likely begin within the next few days, another vote (on pensions and taxes for farmers) is expected during the first week of August.
Earlier today, MNI - citing unnamed sources - reported that Tsipras will look to hold elections as soon as the third bailout is in place. Greek government officials promptly denied the report.

Sujata Burla’s life took an ugly turn on June 9, 2001. On a pilgrimage to Shirdi, where the Sai Baba temple in Maharashtra is located, from Hyderabad, she met with an accident.
Four months later, the doctors and physiotherapists treating her told her she could not walk for the rest of her life. The accident had turned her into a paraplegic. It meant Sujata was immobile below the shoulders. She was just 21.

If you work in a hazardous profession, you can retire with full pension at the age of 50. There are about 450 professions classified as hazardous. One of them is hairdresser.
Yep, you read that right, in Greece, hairdresser is a hazardous profession.
So if you are a hairdresser, you can retire with full state pension at the age of 50.
All other entitlements- healthcare, education, unemployment benefits, housing, etc., of course are there. With these securities in place, Greeks did what all other Europeans have done: They stopped having babies. If government is there to take care of you from cradle to grave, why go to the trouble of maintaining families and having babies? Its fertility rate is just 1.41. SEBI Revises Minimum Contract Size in Equity Derivatives to 5 Lakhs

SEBI today in its circular announced the minimum contract size for equity derivatives from Rs.200,000 to Rs 5,00,000 effective from 30th October 2015 (Post October 2015 Expiry).
Minimum lot size for stocks reduced to 50 and in multiple of 25 there after. For high value stocks minimum lot size fixed at 10 and multiple of 5. Index minimum lot size fixed at 10 and multiple of 5 there after.
It is also stated in the circular that “The stock exchanges shall jointly ensure that the lot size is same for an underlying traded across exchanges.”
The move will prevent individuals and small traders from making themselves vulnerable to high-risk speculation. But on the other side it will put a full stop for small traders entering and trading the derivative segment as the trading for them goes very expensive. Even the trade will be going to be expensive for full time traders and HNI clients. Also possibly this could drive large volumes to the illegal ‘dabba’ or off-market trade.

The deal -- if ratified -- should prevent a chaotic Greek exit from the euro, an unprecedented event that would have shaken Europe to its core.
"EuroSummit has unanimously reached agreement," tweeted Donald Tusk, president of the European Council and summit chairman.
Leaders of the 19 nations that use the euro hammered out the agreement at a marathon overnight meeting in Brussels, after weeks of frantic diplomacy sparked by Greece walking away from a previous bailout program.
That decision left it without the cash to make a payment to the International Monetary Fund, triggered the closure of its banks, and sent Greek economy into free fall.

For those who missed today's festivities in Brussels, here is the 30,000 foot summary: Europe has given Greece a "choice": hand over sovereignty to Germany Europe or undergo a 5 year Grexit "time out", which is a polite euphemism for get the hell out.
As noted earlier, here are the 12 conditions laid out as a result of the latest Eurogroup meeting, which are far more draconian than anything presented to Greece yet and which effectively require that Greece cede sovereignty to Europe, this time even without the implementation of a technocratic government.

The Greek parliament has approved the proposal Alexis Tsipras submitted to creditors on Thursday. The ball is now in Europe's court with a Eurogroup meeting scheduled for Saturday.

Thought process of Professional Traders

Most people enter trading with the idea that they are going to make a lot of money. In other words, they have high expectations.  There is nothing inherently wrong with that idea. In fact, we need motivation, and making a lot of money can be a great a motivator. Unfortunately, many traders also have low self-confidence. And are not profitable or not trading at the level they desire or are capable of.
This is a fairly common condition that can be expressed in the simple equation:

High Expectations + Low Self-Confidence = Poor or Inconsistent Performance.

For a record 12th day in a row, Chinese margin debt balances have dropped with today's 8.5% collapse the largest in history. An affirmation is a statement made in the present about the future as if it had already occurred in the past. Let me say it more simply. An affirmation is a simple statement about what you want to become true in your life. You state it in the present tense as if it were already true. You repeat your hopes and dreams. You declare the opposite of your fears. For example, the fear that you could lose all your money becomes: “I grow my capital through consistently applying my winning methods.”
Be careful to word the affirmation in the present tense. Statements made in the future stay in the future. “Next month I’ll turn my trading around.” stays out there in the future. Now is when you need to turn the trading around.
Affirmations can be repeated to yourself silently or aloud. You can incant them with feeling or whisper them to yourself. You can record them and play them, or write them and read them. A good time to assert them is just as you’re falling asleep or waking up, or any other time of the day. You can say them while you drive or wait in a bank line or as you watch the market or manage a trade.
